A team work and sharing Easter egg hunt.

Resources

Bags of mini foil covered eggs plan on 5 eggs or more per Beaver.
4 different coloured or 4 different types of containers.
A safe area outside the scout hut.

Instructions

Whilst a coming in activity is being done,(we used a simple Easter theme for this) Have a leader or helper hide the foil covered mini eggs outside over quite a big area. Count how many have been hidden.
At opening ceremony divide the Beavers into 4 teams and allocate each team a different bowl/container.
Have the Beavers go and look for the eggs, tell them it is a team race.
Beavers can only collect 1 egg at a time and have to bring it back to their teams container and then go and find another and so on.
Once the colony feel they can not find any more have the Beavers count up the eggs in their teams container, make a note of how many eggs are missing, if any.
The Beavers then have to share the eggs in their teams container with the team, any eggs left over that can't be shared are eaten by the leaders. Everyone in the team has a go at solving the problem as to how many eggs each Beaver in the team gets.
If there are eggs missing from the amount hidden send them out again, telling them how many are missing, you could add the left over eggs to this stage. The twist is that this time any eggs that are found don't need to be shared and its finders keepers.
