Description

Tag Rugby is a fun non-contact sport that promotes teamwork, agility, and fitness. Explorers will enjoy playing this fast-paced game while developing their rugby skills!

Resources

- Tag Rugby tags (fabric strips or purchased)
- Soft rugby ball
- Cones for marking the field

Instructions

1. Set Up: Create a rectangular playing area with cones. Ensure the space is clear and safe with no obstacles. Define the scoring area (try zone) at each end.
2. Divide into Teams: Split the Explorers into two equal teams. Each team will wear tags (these can be made from strips of fabric or purchased).
3. Explain the Rules: The main aim is to score by placing the ball in the opponent's scoring area. Players can pass the ball sideways or backwards.
- If a player is tagged (a tag is taken from their waist), they must stop running and pass the ball.
- Encourage no contact; if a player tackles or pushes, award a penalty to the other team.
4. Play: Start the game! Set a time limit or play until a certain number of tries are scored.
5. Rotate Teams: After a set duration or after scoring, switch the teams so all Explorers get a chance to play.
