Markers for writing challenge

Instructions

Preparation:
Cut out love heart shapes from colourful paper.
Write fun challenges on each heart (e.g., "do a silly dance," "share a compliment," or "make a funny face").

EITHER
Hide the hearts: Before the session, hide the hearts around your meeting area.
Explain the activity: Tell Beavers they will have 10 minutes to find as many hearts as they can and complete the challenges written on them.
Hunt: Start the timer and let the Beavers hunt for the hearts. Remind them to work together.
Share challenges: After the hunt, gather the Beavers and ask them to share how they completed their challenges.

OR
Divide the group into 3 or 4 teams of about 6 in each team.
At one end of your space, set up a chair for each team, with a leader sitting on each. Arrange teams behind chairs.
At the other end of your space, place all the challenge hearts in a pile.
On your signal, players take it in turns to run and grab a heart, returning to their team where they perform the action.
Once the action is done, the next player goes.
Re-run the race until everyone has had a go. Keep score if you like to have a winning team.
If it's going to fast, give different ways of moving - crawl, hop, slither etc

Potential Risks:
Tripping hazards - Clear any obstacles from the hunting area to prevent trips.
Running accidents - Encourage Beavers to move safely and avoid running.
Allergies to materials - Ensure that the hearts are made of safe materials that do not aggravate allergies.
