Round Robin of 3 activities for 4 groups.

Base 1 - Chinese Paper Lanterns, you will want battery operated tea lights for this. Do not use flame with these.
Base 2 - The Story of Chinese New Year
Base 3 - Chopstick Relay

Resources

Base 1 - Chinese Lantern Template, Printer, Red Paper, Pens Scissors, Tape/Glue

Base 2 - Information sheet for Leader, Print out of the Zodiac and years.

Base 3 - 2 sets of Chopsticks, Marbles/Skittles (something to move with the chopsticks), 4 bowls, table, space for running, a leader who can use chopsticks to demonstrate.

Instructions

Base 1 - Instructions are on the template, you can also get Cubs to decorate the lanterns if there is time. Could be nice to finish the night with their lanterns lit up depending on the amount of battery tea lights you have.

Base 2 - Read through the sheet and prompt questions with Cubs. See what they know, what they want to know and explain things. There is plenty on the pdf to satisfy their curious minds. Allow them to work out their own zodiac using the printed table.

Base 3 - Set a table up in the middle of the space. On the table, place two bowls for each team. Cubs are to transfer object (5 each) from one bowl to the other. Could start with cotton wool balls and then try something harder. See which team can move all 5 things the quickest. One group to move onto the next base the other to challenge the next group. Each group should have two goes at the relay.
