Description

A traditional Scottish game where Scouts aim to score points by tossing a 'peever' (a piece of thrown equipment) at a target. ?


Resources

Beanbags or similar objects to toss
Markers for different scoring zones (chalk or cones)

Instructions

Setting Up:

Mark a starting line for the participants and a series of targets (can use chalk for circles or cones for boundaries).
Set out scoring zones if available.
Playing the Game:

Each Scout takes turns standing behind the starting line and throws a beanbag or similar item toward the target.
Scouts score points based on where their thrown item lands (inside each marked zone).
Keep the scores, announcing points after each round to maintain excitement.
Winning the Game:

The game continues until every Scout has had a set number of throws (or a time limit).
Tally scores and declare the winners.

Potential Risks:

Slips, trips, and falls - Ensure the area is free of obstacles.
Injuries from thrown objects - Maintain a safe throwing distance and have all players behind the throw line.
Collision with other players - Ensure a controlled environment and awareness of surroundings.
Inappropriate behaviour leading to accidents - Set a clear code of conduct and monitor closely.
Lack of supervision - Ensure adequate adult supervision throughout the game.
