Description

An activity that explores common beliefs and attitudes towards gender or disability in different societies (Traditional, Progressive, Evolving, and Conservative).

Discussion - Discuss the four societies and which countries fall into the assigned societies.

Fun challenges with a twist - Skit / Fashion Design / Dance Routine / Invention

Reflection - Which society they think the UK aligns with, and how their own views compare to the societies they've studied.

Decoration Items for fashion design group (These could be designed instead of created if you don't have any)
Slings / eye mask etc for dance routine group (group neckers could be used)
Props for skit group (if you have any, but not required)

Instructions

See session plan attached. Designed for 4 small groups (one for each society). For smaller scout troops, you could discuss all four societies but split into 2 or 3 groups for the challenges.
