Six Box of Activities
Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK
Description
A box of activities that can be held on hand for Sixers/Seconders to use if they forget to bring an activity for Six Time.
Resources
Each activity sheet in the Six Time Activities Information PDF has what that particular activity requires. There is also a word doc version of this so you can chop out activities you don't want to have or add your own.
A few purchases need to be made if you are to have all the activities listed eg, pick up sticks, dominoes, knuckle bones, but 90% of the activities are paper sheets that you've preprinted, pens, pencils, the girls themselves. Cheap activities. $2 shop type discount stores have the activities very cheaply.
Plastic bags for each activity - A4 or larger is best to fit the instructions flat and the items needed.
A box or container to hold the activities once made up.
Instructions
Print the activity sheets from the Six Time Activities Information PDF file. All the activities are in this file in numerical order. Print one sided.
The first sheet is the list of games, laminate this and keep it on the top of the box.
Put each activity sheet(s) in a separate plastic bag with the items needed to run that activity. Pens and pencils should be in the bag too so it is a grab and go situation as Six Time is generally only about 15 mins and they need to get on with it and not be looking for what they need.
Some activities have blank templates for the girls to use (grids etc). Print a few of these for the relevant activity so they are ready to use for Six Time. Get the girls to tell you when they take the last one so you know to print more off.
Pop each bag into the box you're storing it in, numerical order so easy to find from the list when they choose.
There are a lot of tangram sheets, you don't need to print them all. Perhaps just print a few of them and next time print a different few so there is variation for the girls.
