Description

Being told about Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster and what we shall be making. Encourage Beavers to select their pom poms for their monster, Show example of what the end product could look like.

Resources

Colourful card,
Pom poms
self adhesive wiggle eyes
colourful craft sticks
tape
glue dots.

Instructions

Draw an outline of the Loch Ness Monster, help Beavers to do so, cut out the outline.
apply glue dots onto the ends of the craft sticks and apply two together to make one long wooden pole.
Repeat a second time to create the second pole.
set the 2 sticks to one side.
Create the monsters fins on glitter foam, cut out and set to one side. On different coloured foam, cut out mouth and set to one side.
Peel the backs of the fins and attach fins to the monster cut out. one on each end, one near the head and one near the tail.
peel back the foam mouth and attach to head of monster, add 2 wiggle eyes in position on the head.
Decorate monsters body with pom poms, using glue dots to place each pom pom.
Using glue dots to apply wooden sticks to the back of the puppet, one on the head and one on the tail.

Puppet is ready to take home and play with.
