Description

Internation Human Rights Day: Take a green and a red apple, ask the group, "In what ways are these two apples and different?" Then peel the apples...

Resources

One or two green apples, one or two red apples and a vegetable peeler.

Instructions

Take a green apple and a red apple, and ask the group, "In what ways are these two apples are different?" (E.g. colour, size)
Peel away the skin of both apples and then ask the same question. Highlight that while they look different on the outside, they arr the same inside, much like humans.
Discuss:
- What makes us the same on the inside?
- How can this remind us about human rights?
- no matter how a person looks, where they come from, or what they believe, they deserve equal human rights to others.
- Just like the apples, everyone around you has the same basic needs and feeling beneath their skin.
