Getting into the activity
1) There are many veterans that are still alive today that have served in some of our biggest battles and conflicts. This includes WW2, the Falklands War, Iraq & Afghanistan.
2) Many of the soldiers that have served our country and given lots of their time and effort to help make our country a better place. Some of those soldiers will have been injured during their time serving. It’s therefore important that from time to time, we go out of our way to thank our veterans.
3) Spend some time colouring in a picture to say thank you to the veterans for serving our country. We’ve provided a template that you can use, or you might like to create your own.
4) The pictures can be given to your local Royal British Legion or used as a display thanking the veterans.
5) Leaders may wish to contact their local Royal British Legion to see if there are any veterans that would be able to visit the group, allowing the children to talk about being a soldier, ask questions and say their thank you in person.
