Remembrance Activity - Animals in Warfare
Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK
Description
Animals have always been used in warfare. Millions have been killed or abandoned after the fighting ceases. The Dickin medal was awarded after the 2nd world war to honour those animals that selflessly gave their lives or saved human lives during conflict.
This activity is not to dishonor those men and women who also gave their lives, just another example of loss during warfare. It also allows for discussion after the activity about the use of animals and how they might have been effected by warfare.
