World War Messengers

Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK

Description

Scouts played an important role on the Home Front during both World Wars. One of their jobs was to act as messengers.

They often had to remember important messages and run or cycle across their home towns to pass them on.

This games simulates that.

Resources

Messages to be passed on - these should be 2 or 3 sentences long.

Instructions

Split the YP into teams - each team then splits into two halves and lines up at opposite ends of the playing area; facing their team mates.

A leader gives the first message to the first player in each team. They then run to the other side of the room and whisper the message to the next player. Continue until the message has been passed to the last player; who then give the message to the leader.

If you only have a small hall; you might want to make the YP do a task halfway down the hall - eg 5 star jumps.
