Instructions

Gather Beavers or Cubs into a circle
Ask them to talk about what they know about Remembrance
Introduction. This is the time when we remember people who have sacrificed life, health, home, and career for others.
• So who do we remember? What about during war?
• soldiers, sailors and pilots but also those in the health service, police, fire officers, lifeboat crew and many others. We remember those who died, those who were injured, those who lost family or friends.
• We also think about why wars happen too often because people are greedy, or full of hate and we pray for a change in all our hearts.
• Baden-Powell our founder was a soldier and he set up Scouts, guides, cubs and brownies so we could learn to live in a better way. That is why we make a promise so let us renew that promise
Find a story about someone in the services 'doing their best' - if you can get someone who was involved all the better.
Light a candle for peace
Sing the song attached - tune is Campfire's Burning
Explain why we buy poppies and what they do with the money - use story attached if wished.
