Describe the different flags and their countries and Saints, and how the Union flag is made up :
The Union Flag was first seen in 1603 when James VI of Scotland came to the throne in England. That flag was the Scottish Saltire of St Andrew with the St Georges Cross of England on top. St Patrick's cross was added to the flag in 1801 following the Act Of Union with Ireland in 1800. Wales is a Principality and not a Kingdom and had been part of the Union with England since 1282 and so it is not part of the Union Flag
