Description

Character Charades
{20:10 - 20:25}

*To help Scouts develop their acting, communication, and creative expression skills – all of which are key to earning the Entertainer Badge.

Resources

Preparation: Write down a variety of roles or characters on pieces of paper (e.g., superhero, pirate, teacher, chef, firefighter, sports coach, or movie character). Fold them up and place them in a hat or bag.

Instructions

1. Group Setup: Divide the Scouts into two teams (boys vs girls). One team will take turns acting, while the other guesses.
2. Acting Time: The first Scout from the acting team draws a piece of paper and silently acts out the character or role listed. They can use gestures, body movements, and facial expressions but cannot speak or point to things in the room.
3. Guessing: The other team has a set time (e.g., 1 minute) to guess which character or role it is.
4. Scoring: If the guessing team correctly identifies the character, they get a point. Then, it’s the next team’s turn to act.
5. Winning: The team with the most points after a set number of rounds wins!
